Charlotte Is Mine will be lovingly familiar to those already missing the just departed Kinoko Teikoku (きのこ帝国). A cross between the alternative immediacy of Supercar and the by turns melancholic/happy-go-lucky radio pop of Indigo La End, Charlotte further muddies the mix by showcasing shoegazy textures on slower ballads. This willingness to experiment where straight alternative pop may have sufficed showcases the band’s performing and songwriting prowess while allowing frontwoman Nana Furuya’s vocals to soar effortlessly above the mix. Their highly recommended first album has just released, and we are now pleased to finally offer their first single in a limited cassette format.
